Introduced by Portuguese (1542 A.D) and Dutch (1561 A.D) traders,
the Arquebus changed the face of samurai warfare similar to that in Europe.
Oda Nobunaga was the said to be the first to break tradition by deploying his Ashigaru (foot soldiers) with Arquebuses in the first line (traditionally reserved for the Samurai caste as a right and position of honour).
