You really did an awesome work Erwin! Before I read your How-to, I was wondering wether you actually had changed something on that jet's cockpit. What would I love to see? Well, that handle/grip that sits above the pilot's head for the emergency eject (I believe).

I think Playmobil will never release such a jet, so I'm very glad I got this one.

The handle to eject sits usually between the pilot's legs these days, what you remember I think are the string-like ones on older jets. But it is actually a good idea, I'll have a look if I can add something like that.  ;)
I've thought about adding a controlstick in the middle, but I think I'll go with a small sidestick-controller on the pilot's side, like in real F-16s and F-22s.


Meanwhile, some more pics...

The first one is a comparison between the original pilot-doll and the Playmobil-pilot. The original figure is a lot taller then a klicky, but a klicky's head is bigger then the doll's one.

The jet itself is about as long as a 3940 (US 3286) or 5135 pirates' ship, bowsprite-mast included...

hello , nice idee . I wonder why playmobil do a parachutist because they don't make the plain to go with , it will be ok with your plane !

The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is sometimes called a "Hanger Queen" as the jet is maintenance-heavy because of the stealth-coatings/-paint and such.

Here a view on one ondergoing maintenance, meanwhile the wing-commander has arrived on his retro-motorbike to enlighten the F-22 pilots about the new ACES-V ejection-seat, with will replace the current seats.
Also in the hanger is a Geobra Airstatter T-51 training-jet.

(PS: I still have to paint the major/commander's cap in a darker blue)
