Klicky Pictures Request
« on: May 28, 2013, 03:59:37 »
I've got a huge favor to ask of these who have the Circus Romani sets as well as the recent generation of circus performers with the big top.

I'm writing a fiction novel based on the Circus Romani theme and drawing inspiration from the klickys in the sets associated with the theme. I'm assembling my character sketches and would like pictures of the Klicky they pay homage to, so I am asking for individual photos of Klickys from the following sets:

3398 (Snake Charmers); 3711 (Elephant/Rider); 3723 (Band); 3725 (Magicians); 3727 (Lion Trailer & Cage); 3728 (Strongman & Assistant); 3742 (Horse Show); 3808 (Clowns); 3809 (White Elephant); 3810 (Riding Act); and 4236 (High Wire/ Acrobats)

(I'm not very good at cropping images from the box images, thus my request to the more technological-savvy folks out there).

I have Klickys from these sets so they are checked off:

3319 (Clown); 3720 (Circus Ring); 3726 (Monkey Act); 3730 (Horse Show Shelter); 3737 (Snake Dancer); 3787 (Clowns); 4237 (Dog Act)

If you have any customized Klickys that might fit into the Romani circus theme, by all means post here as well. I do have several other characters who don't have a Klicky double yet.

Many thanks! (I'll be sure to thank my Playmofriends buddies on the acknowledgements page when I hit that milestone  ;D).

Ok, pics are from 23 December 2012, so... should be shortly after that...

(As noted, some were modified - and some will move. We decided we have far too many circus people!)

Found them! Thanks!

"Far too many circus people" brought a smile to my face.

EDIT: After (re) looking at those pictures, I adore your Siegfried and Roy!  ;D

Thanks - mostly my sister's work, I think... We both adore the men.

Update: I have pictures of all except the Ringmaster (I have him, digging him out as I type this); the Riding Act (3810); Monkey Act Lady (I think I have her as well... digging her up too).

Tahra, after looking at your pictures, I believe the horse leader guy from 3742 has gray hair, not brown? Ditto with clown with drum on his back (3797) - wrong head and hair as well (I have this one, will snap a picture so no worries).

Now to find Klicky representations for my made-up characters from other themes. This should be fun! (If anyone wants to help, the types I am looking for are listed below):

Fortune Teller (thinking a type that Helena Bonham Carter could play).
Cesare type from "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari"
(and while we are at it, Dr. Caligari himself too).
Two managers (think the duo from "The Phantom of the Opera")
Female lion tamer (the male one will be a lion wrangler instead)
Spectators circa 1924.
The main character (ransacking through my collection of 500 Klickys hoping to find the perfect match without having to do too much customization). Male, 20s, handsome, works at the circus as a temporary "carny" - selling candy.

(Oh by the way, any chance for a picture of that one selling candy from the most recent circus?)

How I came up with an elaborate story line after being inspired by the two burned tigers that came into my collection from someone else is beyond my wildest imagination. (Okay, they're not really burned, just gave me the impression of being so - two Playmobil Color tigers scrawled over by the previous owner).

Can't you tell I'm having fun with this project?  ::)

If you are looking for a female lion tamer, here is an awesome custom the amazing Emma J made for me.  She's based on Mabel Stark, who was a tiger trainer for decades.  I read a fictionalized account of her life and became obsessed with her.  Here she is:

She is beautiful! Perfect too! (I'll imagine her with long cascading black locks for my character, but the outfit is perfect!)
