(catching up)
We were looking forward to the new fairies. Unfortunately, the store didn't have the boat, and so far we decided against that weird one (can't say our name for it, I think).
One of the biggest issues were the non-sitting klickys. It is not a good direction, though as my sister pointed out, it is more a matter of principle than anything else.
Unfortunately, I didn't think this through, and didn't get either as repeat, which means.. no popping yet.
So, here we go... (as you can imagine.. this is long.)
5446 Unicorn Chariot
The chariot has a stupid greenish color, much worse "in the plastic". I thought it would do, but it's really ugly. The color, I mean, the sculpt is good. The wheels obviously don't help. We set that aside for further... study.
Of note... the staff (in that weird color), those bracers (at least we didn't have them), and there are silly stickers (we didn't use). Then, the best - the neckpiece is amazing, and I foresee many many uses for it (though this is not the most... fortunate color, it will do nicely
). And the wings. These are BY FAR the most beautiful klicky fairy wings so far
The color is AMAZING.
And here she is, the non-sitting fairy. I think the skirt could have... potential. And we figured the hair is not very suitable. Easily fixed.
The unicorn is AMAZING. Gorgeous in white and silver. Though that design spoils the effect somehow. But at least it looks like he has some sort of blankety thing over. Most of the others are just a mystery. If we get repeats (ok, WHEN we get repeats), might try to remove it... this one could be the most beautiful of them, after "cleaning".
5447 Healer Fairy Elixia
The other non sitting klicky. And no repeats. Bah.
I'm getting a bit tired of that baseplate. It's not that it's ugly or anything, just seemed to cross it a few times in a short period.
The big leaf in the base of the flower feels.. odd. Basically cause it's not really "stuck", it's just thrown around it. I'm on the fence about it. But hey, vegetation is always good.
Well, this was the first thing that came to mind when we saw the first pics EVIL GRIN... (no klickys were harmed in this! if I could set the kid eating plant on real annoying kids... well... )
Anyways, the tree is a bit.. odd. The leaves are a quite nice variation, but a tree sprouting golden eggs is just... well... magical?
That lantern thingie is gorgeous - though I can't really say why I find it so appealing.
More... interesting vegetation - another of those heart bushes (I can't get over it!) with the same kind of alien looking flowers that came with the dinos.. And blue mushrooms!
And then there's the giant butterfly..
The leaf bandages... a bit odd.. But they don't look half bad on the doe.. So.. nice!
Of note.. The quill is really nice... The book has real nice drawings.. And...
.. there's a bottle full of magical golden power... not to mention... An indian utensils set in a DIFFERENT COLOR!
We loved it!
The caldron is way bigger than the usual, and very beautiful. We loved the design and the color. It's made to set in the new firewood, so unfortunately it has a hole in the bottom.
And the last highlights - the wand. WHY oh WHY must it be pink? The thing has a great sculpt, but the color...
The set comes with a large collection of animals
And includes one of those huge butterflies, in pink. The wings are compatible with those of the klickys... so that's good, allowing for some messing. Unfortunately, they don't have much "balance". It's hard to set them "standing" by themselves (or I'm just hapless).
Here's the fairy... non-sitting. Love the hair. And she has potential.. but that is for future investigations. (I feel like banging my head on the wall looking at all these gorgeous arms! GAH.)
5448 Forest Fairy Diana
This one sparked my interest as soon as I saw her... Loads of potential there. So, bought repeats straight away.
Obviously, she needs work. Starting with... what the FRACK is she supposed to shoot?! Magical invisible arrows?! GAH.
That stick for the falcon is also silly... a glove would be much better... Or that little thing that comes with pirates or the "3 Playmos"... But, whatever.. not really very important.
The horse is even MORE gorgeous in the "playmoflesh". AWESOME.
The fox is new, I think, with the molded eyes, and I THINK the falcon is new as well.
The klicky... well... She's nice.. though the skirt is a bit silly, and she forgot her boots :s We love that hair, especially for men.
The bridle (another new part, I think) is very nice. The sculpt is once again, amazing... though the color is a bit.. strange. It's freaking transparent. In this case, I suppose they can use the "it's a magical whatever" to justify the odd colors... but what a missed opportunity!
This horsy will blend fine in non-magical settings... well.. without the reins.
And a shot of the hooded falcon.. I THINK the hood in that color is also a novelty.. I'm not overly fond of those.
The accessories - the staff is kinda weird for her to carry, especially with the longbow (without arrows :s).. Since the bows are always welcome, whatever. The wings are very nice, as is the neckpiece
5449 Forest Fairy Surya
Considering that both sets are the same size and price, this one is clearly inferior in terms of what's in the box. Unfortunately, we didn't get repeats right away. And weren't really planning to.
The horsy in all his glory. AMAZING
again. I had no idea this horse was so amazingly gorgeous! We thought the weird color would kinda make the beast.. well.. weird. But no. He's REALLY beautiful too.
Same can't exactly be said of the klicky. She seems fit for the circus (we didn't make a final decision if she'll pop or join the circus)
More stuff in odd colors. Good also for mermaids, I think.
5450 Fairy Aquarella with Unicorns
This is the least interesting set of the group, I think...
Some nice vegetation, with new parts (I THINK)... Again those leaves at the bottom. The base has indentations to place the log.
The neckpiece is a pretty light blue.. And another PINK transparent staff. What in Hades are they thinking?
What's that supposed to be made of? Oh. Wait. There's a pink boat as well. Gods. Maybe they'll make a pink forest next?
The animals... The unicorn is nice (well, they all are!), and there's also duckys, and bugs.. including a huge one, this time in blue.
The wings are unusual... very nice
At least the flowery garlands make more sense than most drawings!
And the klicky... She's not very... fairy like... We decided to change her.
5451 Forest Concert
I still didn't get over the trauma of the playing bush from the first pics. The set is gorgeous, and I think changing that did wonders for it's appeal.

With another heart bush.. but I suppose in the middle of a lush forest, it won't show too much, right?
Again, more uses for the pink trees - since we actually have these in decent colors, it's not half as annoying as it could be.
This set brings loads of smaller animals...
.. including another giant bug, this time in yellow and blue... The wings are the common design here, though I think we have a lot more PINK wings then blue. Geeee.. I wonder why.
Some nice parts - those little rocks fit on the trunk's end very well. The harp is another one of those PARTS. Great, but the color makes it a bit.. weird.
