Hello PlaymoFriends from Knoxville, Tennessee! My name is Kate. I have been following along with the forums for a few months and am finally getting around to coming forward and saying "Hi."
My first Playmobil were the construction men with the pipes and then the cowboys & indians sometime in the early 80's. Pirates soon began to raid our house and then knights arrived bringing their lovely steck castles. Our home now is full of people who love playmobil both young and 'more mature' (3 and 0.2 young children, my sweet mother, and my way to indulgent husband
). So, our interests bring many themes to life throughout every corner of the house and under carpets.
My favorite themes lean toward historical, fairytale, knights, whimsical, and anything you can make a story out of. Our collection is nice, but there could always be more. There could also always be more space to play.
I have playmodreams both big and small. I look forward to the Alpine usa release because it reminds me of our nearby mountains and Gatlinburg. I would also love to one day make a playmobil model of Knoxville's Sunsphere which was the site of the 1982 World's Fair. To scale, it would be 10 ft tall! Creating buildings from the real world and the fantastical would also be a lot of fun one day.
For now, I'm enjoying learning so much from all of you and experiencing the fun everyone has through your fantastic photos and hope to have a pinch of sanity here and there to contribute.
