Hello Tim.

Actually, it's not a diorama, it's a place where the kids can play with playmobil.
Thanks for the feedback.

George. :)

Keep a seat free for those kids, George. I bet you're sitting there all the time...
I think those small diorama's are pretty cool... you see you don't need that much Playmobil to make a nice set up.. they also tell small stories. You're lucky you have this in your town, George! I like the pictures, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! Love the safari dio. The zoo is strange, though.... :hmm: It seems either the people or the animals need to be behind bars! The victorian dio is amazing, so much to see!

You are absolutely right, Ras. :)9 :)9

George. :)

Its a bit sad that a large company can not even come close to the work of amateur collectors. You would think that Geobra would acknowledge with respect the contributions of private collectors abilities in building huge dioramas. I am not saying the small ones are any less but at the end of the day what do you think people will remember? In this day and age of distractions and endless competition the big dioramas really leave a lasting impression, and a lasting impression is what marketing should look for. I see these small Geobra made dio's in TRU etc. and I have never seen kids or the sugar daddy parents looking at them. On the other hand I have a local following of parents who come to shows just to see bid playmobil dioramas. Then look at all the expos that private collectors do in Europe and yet Geobra find it necisary to treat us like the redheaded stepchild.

George that was very nice of you to sit with the kids and interact with them through play, its not very common anymore.... at least in our area of the world.   :hatoff:

I don't think that the size of a diorama matters that much, I think its more the old sets that kids never knew about that draws the attention.

Geobra's setups are limited to the latest batch after all, its meant to boost sales. Making a diorama of stuff that cant be found in stores anymore wouldnt help that much for that.
And huge diorama's would be very much out of reach for kids. fun to see, but unless they have parents who are playmobil collectors, it wont be anything they will ever have at their house.
A diorama consisting out of pretty much the full batch of a theme however would be within reach.

Personly, I'd advice Geobra to use the middle ground here: Let a collector set up a diorama using only items currently in stores or in DS.
From a marketing point of view, it would be the most effective way to boost sales I bet.

I am not arguing or trying to prove you wrong here, I am just trying to explain jazz.

A big diorama is not about what it is made of. I could make a big diorama of current sets and if geobra brought out a classic store cube display I still am very confident that kids and their parents will still be drawn to the elaborate diorama. Its what makes disneyland so popular. Its not that you want a disneyland of your own but it is an environment that stimulates sparks in ones imagination that will carry on to your own play when you do get home to your few sets of toys. Its the stimulation that it creates that is wonderful. These new employees and all their market research on how to sell toys is obviously lacking heart and soul and that is something collectors have plenty of. If Geobra would take notice and treat us like lego does their collector base then a company gets the best of both worlds. Utilize us for what we have because they do not have the heart and soul, they just have the bottom line.

I guess it comes down to not being able to understand jazz by reading about it, you have to experience it and live it.

Love the Victorian diorama, I do like the way the church has been enlarged.
You look as though you were enjoying yourself  :)

It looks like they made an effort with the small diorama's too, the smoke in the mine for instance. A lot depends on how the people from the shop arranges it, because I've seen these things very poorly done too. This looks great! I thought it would really make kids interested.

About the big diorama: the interiors look sooooo good   It looks as though there have been some vast changes made on the inside of the buildings since the last exposition (but I'm 100% not sure).
