Lovely photos,
It looks like a great place to work.

Elaine

Thanks both places are great to work I'm really glad that I can split my work between working at BTCV 1 or 2 days a week and Botanics the rest of the weeks it's probably not as good a sa lot of gardens I've visited but, to me it's like a 2nd home after all the years I've been volunteering as for BTCV well we work on some great sites some quite cold and exposed ones though as well but, this one is a sort of woodland coppice and it's normally a nice sun trap  :)

Did your clickies chop all that wood for you?  :o

 I wish one of the voulnteers often does the brew and goes off looking for good firewood to take back and dry out while the rest of us are doing the task, don't think the little fellas even had the Firemans axe to chop the wood up and I hadn't got them the chainsaw yet  :)
 ;)

Wonderful outdoor pictures, congrats.

George.

Thank you very much  :)

Nice pictures! <*)

Thanks glad you like them  :)

Wow, very nice pictures! Looks like quite a pretty environment to work in. :)

Some more photos for you, first off still at Cliff Plantation decided to make best use of the very long fairly straight woodland path

Rambling

A few weeks ago when we were doing some Hedgelaying we had a bonfire to keep us warm and get rid of all the brash we'd created speaking of which I spent most of last Thursday moving brash only to be told that they wanted it piled up somewhere else then later that the first pile I'd made needed moving to where I'd done the 2nd  :-[ >:( not easy considering how slippy and muddy the path was by then. Anyway the guys were quite impressed with the bonfire

The next week when we were Hedgelaying some of the boys decided to act as quality control inspecting the workmanship

Only one suitable way to test whether it's up to standard "so what do you think?"

"It looks good to me, pretty sturdy stuff"

And this is how far we'd progressed at the end of the day

Last week I was annoyed by the snow cancelling Tuesday's task day so resigned myself to a day clearing snow at the gardens, fortunately by Wednesday the snow had melted sufficiently to do the extra task day that had been planned, was a nice dry sunny day only 6 of us there including 4 staff, me and another volunteer meant it was quieter than usual. We had a rather nice surprise find.

A rather beautiful butterfly a Peacock apparently, resting on a dead branch stump which we were about to pull out

Blink and you could easily miss it

Thanks it looked as though it was enjoying the sun, was certainly was quite a nice surprise at this time of the year and indeed very beautiful, thank goodness we spotted it before it met an untimely end they'd probably have got squished in one way or another if we hadn't spotted it  :)
