I guess they're trying to make it only vaguely reminiscent of the story, so they don't have licensing issues.
I don't know - I think they took a HUGE risk with the Lara Croft rip off.. I'm actually very surprised they didn't get sued. (spelling?) Or maybe they did pay licensing? Unlikely, and if they had, it would be known, no? Or maybe whoever owns Lara is a playmobil fan?
