An image of my cousin Ludovic de Hadoque (on the right) and a colonist (on the left), in the Carribean around AD 1650...

They both look great!

Did you paint the colonist's hat?

Thanks  :)

The colonist's hat is an old farmershat that came in yellow (found a whole bunch of those at the Templeuve-exhibition), I indeed painted it black with a special erase-resistant marker and when it was dry, I sprayed a bit of lack over it.

His pants are from one of the "Black Petes" in set 5040, I erased the red stripes that were on it with a pencil-gum and some DLE-90 Paint-remover for plastics. Then I treated it with polish for synthetic materials, to give it back the original shine (in the pic the trousers still look a bit wet ( ) as it needed some more rubbing of the polish).

Ludovic de Hadoque's torso comes from a Mongol in an Easter-egg, I painted some buttons in the middle.

Right, I thought it was one of those ancient yellow ones :)

Two great customs, Hadoque.  I especially like the colonist, he really captures the era.
