hi Arnaud ! ca roule ?

so you succed to find someone to do that ! the tracian is a masterpiece ! euh a masterpiece of a computer ... anyway this is great !!

I also dream of this helmet since a long time !!!

With that  it's possible to make one helmet a day ? i mean , is it a long job ?

Is the painting ok on this kind of plastic ?

The costs seems to be a bit hight if you want to do a lot , you should do one very clean and maybe ask someone to make moulds in resine (for 3E it must be ok)

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

No Ras, those are 3D views. But I guess you could have them printed.
@gasp: I drew them myself and got them printed by Sculpteo.com. Creating process takes about 3 hours for a helmet, less for a shield.
@Mike: thanks for the link, I'll try and download at least one. Might have to mearn Blender then… Pfff! Is it going to end?
@WoT: belt clip? Do you have a pic?
Best,
A.

I am going to look locally for a print shop that has these 3D printers. I really want to explore this technology and its applicability to our playmobil collection.

And when materials get more diverse and stronger (and they do, I've seen a vid about a working M-16 assault rifle being printed), I'm not so sure if it would be remain much fun if you can make ALL the (fake) Playmobil you dream off (already no longer a need for a PCC to get exclusive sets; someone scans a set and everyone prints his/her own ''Albrecht Dürer'' ;D ) or ANYTHING else you'd like to have at home or at your local printshop. When you think about the longer term, without regulations the effects of such developments could become devastating...

Come on, Erwin, think about a printed 3-master - that would be something...

Back: I don't like printing, resin or else, it is not Playmobil. This brand has so much to offer, so many parts - be creative, if something is not historical accurate, use your imagination and fantasy.
If I see some figures completely customized with non-Playmobil and only the head let's you know  it could be a Klicky underneath - I have a hard time classifying this as Playmobil.

Well, with that I agree... I mean, bent limbs, NOSES  :o ... That's not playmobil...

I don't think that gorgeous  gladiator helmet would make the klicky custom be classified as "non-playmobil" though.. At least not to me...

I would want to use the technology to reproduce missing or broken parts that are no longer in production. With the recently re-released church/school that is missing the gavel, hand bell, bell mechanism and pull cord, a person could easily make them on this printer. You would only need a few of them and I think it would be more convenient than finding the old part, casting a mold and then pouring it out of resin. I guess people could also produce the cross that will be missing off the mountain  ;) No its not official playmobil but its a great alternative and yes I agree a diorama with a bunch of other brand items is just as much the other brand as it is a playmobil diorama. I too am a purist

Well I'm not a brand!  a diorama with playmobils and custom playmobils by Cowabounga will remain a playmobil diorama then, won't it?
