As some of you may already of read that I couldn't wait any longer and bought the Roman theme recently, so here's my look on the BIG one, the arena.
Theres not a lot to assembling this arena the plans show you how in ten very easy steps and without the statues and yellow clips theres just 37 pieces to it. So assembly was fairly quick and I let David (11) do that and he managed it OK however a few parts needed a little bit more strength to push them together. Theres lots of stickers to apply, 40 in total on six sheets so you will need a steady hand.
Once assembled the arena is larger than it looks in any photos that I have seen of it but in some ways it does look as simple as a circle of train track in that it doesn't do much. Theres a nice little trap door that drops into one of the big cat cages on top of the main stand and a handful of doors that open and that's it. The 2 statues are really cool and have a huge impact on the arenas appearance these are top Playmo parts. So it is exactly what it is supposed to be an arena for shows, all the action happens inside the ring.
The one thing that I don't really like on the arena is those magic face flames as I call them I would of liked just a simple flame without eyes and a nose also a seat for the Cesar would of been nice but he can't sit down wearing his robe.
It is possible to replace all of the simple wall sections which there are 8 of, for the seated sections to make a complete seated arena which I'm sure many people will do.
