How about re-releasing the two  western and 4052 trains as static models!

Replace the motor block/s with a simple non powered rolling chassis stick them in a nice Perspex/plastic display case and give them a limited edition certificate. Perhaps on a piece of plastic track with fixed figures.

The advantages of this would be, hopefully it would be quite cheap to make but have a collectable limited edition price premium for Playmobil. Any one who didn’t want to keep it in its static form could remove it from its case and source themselves a motor block or two. Provide new source of spares for  existing western and 4052

Also Playmobil does at least give a small nod to adult collectors with its £100 (not complaining) resin figures.

Which are not available to us in the US. :( We don't get so much as a story book or jigsaw puzzle over here.

I don't think there will ever be sets released for this market only, as there's no possible way to limit the buyers. Also, nothing we've listed is really too mature for children or anything. I reckon we're naming things that might be too complex or specific for children, but I can't really definitively say that because I think some of the ideas suggested would actually add to the learning experience of the toys.

I think it would only be limited in the available funds. Typical kids do not have access to $1000 for some hobby.

I do agree that the content is not too far off for kids, that is unless there is a brothel  ;)

That is a great idea to over come these obstacles. I do not know why I did not think of it, it so simple and would work. Engine blocks are still on auctions regularly

I like the idea of medieval stocks, but can't see how a klicky could fit in them, given that their hands and heads wouldn't be able to be in them at the same time :D  He would have to have his hands in stocks and maybe his head peeping over the top... gah!

As for gallows - I think there was a diorama produced recently (can't find the link) where they had one in the town centre using existing playmo parts.. if I manage to rediscover it, I'll post :D

Right, they would have to be just hands in the stocks, or the feet-only kind. Somewhere I have a picture of myself in foot stocks when I was a teenager. You sit on a board that is turned sideways so that it is very uncomfortable, with your feet straight out in front. That kind would work very well for a klicky.
