EPIC!
That is the word that popped into my head as I viewed these amazing photos.  Setting up on the floor rather than on tables has one obvious advantage in that you can really spread things out.  Your use of gravel and different colors of mulch really worked well to highlight the various areas as well as to give everything an "old west" feel.  The tarp that you used for the water is perfect - I think most of us have at least one of those blue tarps somewhere around the house and, until now, probably did not think of using it in this way.  The bridge is magnificent!  One's amazement at the sheer quantity of elements in this layout is only surpassed by an appreciation of the cleverness and wit displayed in the way everything is arranged.  Well done!

Impressive Ras!   :o  AMAZING.

What's the animal in this pic? The one on the right part fence?

The only non playmobil item in the whole display and you found it  There is a tread about it in here somewhere . its a mystery I would like to solve.

I see a lot of skeletons bleaching in the sun... did one of them have a cow's head? Oh, and I see you got some advertizing for your business in.

Yes my sons were putting them all over the place. The cow head one, my middle son put in the smoke stack of the steaming mary to freak out the moms  :P
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

A wonderful display Ras, you did very well to set all that up in so short a time.
I was very impressed with all the details you were able to include too.
The use of the sand, bark etc. worked well.  I liked the water too  what did you use for that.
The only thing that puzzled me was how all the bodies (skeletons) lay undiscovered for so long, just along from the saloon

The water was a problem up to the last minute. A few hours before the show set up I went to 3 craft/fabric stores to get something. They wanted like $100 for some stupid looking material and no one had mylar wider than 1 inch. About 10 minutes before I left my wife said "why don't you use a tarp?" I grabbed an old stained one off our wood pile .

I wonder whether you just set the first stone for future Playmobil exhibitins in the US.

Best,
HDL

You should have heard all the talk from all the vendors and the management and the other displayer's and the visitors and the....... :-[ :-[ :-[  I learned a lot of stuff

You did an amazing job, it looked fantastic. Lots of clever stuff. I like how you converted the pirate island and lighthouse for use with the Western theme. I'm sure you've learned all sorts of things that will be useful if you do the event again. Did it go over well with the event management?

Yes I learned a lot of back room business stuff. I did not know the high financial incentives at these events. Setting LEGO's up, well I learned you have to work like hell in a short time. and I want to make it way better with some planning. Water features, mountains, tunnels, tables.............

The management asked me to display at every show they do forever. Most of the management I found standing around stating at the LEGO diorama. Their offices were in the other building but they wanted to stay looking.

Playmobil, you blew a big one on this marketing
but do not fret it is not only you but the local toy store, the landscape supply house, they all blew a great chance to stimulate commerce. They do not like money.

I can safely say very few people knew what it was, they want it and now they think its LEGO's  :P

Thank you, it did work well on the ground, I found many kids and parents sitting staring. One mom and son were sitting looking for hours.

The tarp was old wrinkled stained and was the perfect effect. I heard many people say they wanted to dive in

I wish I had more time to set all the other junk I had. I must have had dozens of building and many new sets that I never got around to setting. To much to do and so little time
