New Playmobil RC Atlas Maintenance Loco Petition
« on: September 17, 2012, 11:35:57 »
Although this relates to trains, I've posted it here as it seems to be an interesting departure for Playmobil and so worth wider attention.

I'm a member of GScaleCentral which is a G scale train forum and Sammler (another member) recently posted this:

"I recently sent an email to Playmobil asking if they would make an RC version of the Atlas Maintenance Loco and was told that they might consider it if enough people ask for one.

If anybody is interested in them re-making this loco you can you send an email to service at playmobil.de "

Maybe people here would like to support the petition too.

do we have a boiler plate petition or should we write up our own ?
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

I don't think it matters so long as people let Playmobil know.  Individual emails are probably just as good as one with a lot of signatures, maybe better as every signature is attached to a separate email.

Yes I too was thinking about individual emails but what should we write?

"Hi playmobil

We want a RC work train.

Thanks
Collector"

Mention the actual set and also say how much you like Playmobil with some information on your collection is probably a good route to follow.

How many people do we need, which are interested, to get this loco really?

500?
1000?

in the past  Geobra want to see things in the 10,000 and above ranges. Now what I never understood is if that was for one market or split up. If it was for one market we are talking about X 10 or 100k.

I still wish we could find out from anybody at Geobra if the new RC train will get US, UK & etc. distribution?

Do you really mean that there are enough buyers for 10.000 or 100.000 locos 4053 together in all Playmobil forums?
(or did I understand something wrong?)

If there are 2500 members (would be a high number), every member of a Playmobil forum has to buy 4 or 40 locos.
Not every member is interested in locos...

I don't see a chance, why do you see one?

This is the problem of large specialty sets to be re-released. A set of this magnitude would be close to the $100 mark. In the past the ones geobra was willing to re-release have a much larger broader audience..... medieval, construction, Victorian.

Right now Geobra along with FAO/TRU released the expensive Victorian house w/5300 colors. This has been on many members re-release list for some time. Now that it is available it is not moving according to TRU and Geobra. It is quite annoying for them to produce such a set and not have it sell. I think one of the problems is it is being sold for $130. Now it is on sale for $86 but you have to buy 3 and this is still expensive for most.

I am not sure how many they need to satisfy their bottom line now that Geobra has better molding machines and the most modern mold making machines. It used to cost thousands of euros to make a simple mold but that cost has been going down steadily

I am sure the collector community is not the only ones who will have to absorb all the train sets. I would suspect that many of them would be distributed for "normal" sales and we just need to fill in the holes.

I suspect that this attitude (sets on requests) is in place for any set to be re-released.

I could/would buy up to 3 of such a work train set even if it only came with the train and no track etc....

Now if it was a western train I would go to 5  ;) especally the coveted 4052. I just do not like the RC too much and would prefer it to be easily converted to track powered.
