Just dont add a fountain with pouring water, people might not take kindly to that if theres a line in front of the restrooms.   :lol:

a contractor friend want to build a pond w/water for the ships. I would then have to raise the whole display 6 inches and I have no time for this first one. I was thinking next time letting kids shoot cannons and the boats would be on a revolving track that I found at Ikea but now there is the RC motor .

You're right by the restrooms, so guaranteed steady traffic. Hope things are coming together well for you.

Well I just started to box a few things up but I really do not see what I can do for now. I hope the catalogs get here in time. I have to start the set up on Thursday.

I plan on first setting  up the bridge,
 then laying all the rails,
 then putting in the towns,
then the water and boats,
then adding the brown mulch,
then the ballast rock and light saw dust for roads and trails,
I was thinking about using fine grass clippings for grass areas,
then the people, carts, trees, animals and fences
then the trains

or something like that  8}
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

You need to plan ahead of time and draw out at least a rough plan of where things will go, in some detail, such as which buildings will be in the towns, where they will be, etc. You can also go ahead and put buildings together and fill them with furniture and klickys, using earthquake putty to keep things in place, and then box them like that. You will run out of time to fill in those fine details and end up with empty or poorly detailed buildings. It's really a LOT of work setting up a diorama of that size, and you'll be very short on time, so the more you can get done at home ahead of time the better. Also, be sure and experiment with your mulch and such on a smaller scale to see how easy it is to work with. You wouldn't want to put that kind of thing down and then discover a problem with it, you'll be unable to remove it without pretty much starting over.

How much time do you actually have for setting up?
Whatever, allow more time than you expect - as Bonnie said, the fine details such as getting klickies to look right rather than just putting them anyhow takes ages.
Are you able to take your bridge ready made in sections?
My Hogwarts display took me over 10 hours to set up and I'd already done it twice before so knew where everything should go.  8}

First truck load, not all fit and this is only the extra stuff we had in the city house. The majority is at the barn

Good :) There's nothing worse than a display where stuff is obviously spread too thin. Better to shrink the apparent size of the display than have it look empty.
