Help with part number for museum roof
« on: August 11, 2012, 18:07:52 »
Hi all - I'm hoping someone can help with a part number for me.  I'm hoping to place an order with Playmobil Parts for a few steck things I need, but can't find a part number for the museum roof from set 3449 (not on playmobil db unfortunately).  It's the corner roof part I'm hoping for, the one they've just re-released in Germany as 6307.  I've never ordered from the parts service before, but I'm really hoping that they might have some steck walls with windows *crosses fingers* although I'm not so sure about this one as it's been out of production for a while  :(  Anyways, all help/advice/information about experiences ordering from the UK (and part number! lol) appreciated!

Is this the same basic building as the Medieval Inn # 3448?  I am kind of sketchy on the Medieval theme, but it looks similar to me.  Maybe the roof parts would have the same number.

I believe that the 3449/6307 Museum roof is constructed from the same pieces that make the roof ends on the old
4300 - Main Station, so that would be:

2 pieces of 30 02 858 Roof end section,
4 pieces of 30 02 859 Roof corner plate, and
2 pieces of 30 02 855 Roof section connector

I think you need all 3 types of roof pieces to make the Museum roof

if you are just using the end roof and will have no flat roof pannels then you will not need the 30 02 855 Roof section connector. They are used to connect the flat roof pannels together. On the end roof piece the connector is molded on the left edge.

If you want a wider roof then you will need these along with flat roof sections.

Just using the end roof will give you a 2 x 2 walled building.

Thank you all for your help  :)
I'm trying to build a monastery and have done a rough and ready mock-up using available parts from my castles to try to figure out what I needed - basically a museum roof for the top of the tower and then two half-roofs for each of the transepts - plus many, many windows!
I've attached a picture of it (ugly I know, but I'm hoping it will show what I mean!) and if I've understood correctly, I'm thinking I will need 4 x 30 02 858, 8 x 30 02 859  and no connectors to get those parts of the roof done  :)

Thank you all again!!

Aaah!! Thank you!  I thought the roof was in four quarters, but looking at this thread, it's actually two halves! lol  I'd totally missed seeing this - thank you for pointing me there, playmofire!  :)  Eeek.. now I want those arches too!

Good catch on that correction, gassy (and hats off to Rasputin and Playmofire, too, for clarifying the situation for Gyps.)  It's been a while since I experimented with my train station roof pieces so I wasn't 100% sure about the connector pieces.  :)
