A chrome knight
« on: August 06, 2012, 08:25:31 »
...or maybe two

I've been planning to do this for a long time now, so I got up one morning two weekends ago and start spraying at the first one, seperate parts etc, and let it for a whole day to dry... Still the result was not satisfying, because I discovered chrome needs a lot longer to dry and become stable on the part... thus the finger marks and discoloured areas.

So, here is the first one:

and here is the second one:

I let the second one dry for a good of seven days before I put all the parts togeher, so that I could avoid any marks or undried areas that could result in finger marks and discolouring.

They both look good at first sight, but close up you can see the difference.  The second one looks magnificent.

Are you going to produce a whole army of them?

They both look fantastic, Panos! So nice and shiny. The marks on the first one don't look too bad. I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't point it out.

The second one does indeed look much better, but the first one just seems like it has seen action and took a few hits before being put on display.

The fingerprints just make it look like the armor took a blow there.  :)
