I thought they looked like LEGO helmets but those are rather large for that ... curious

I thought so too, but I figured Lego heads were smaller than Playmobil children heads.

 Lego does make larger figures for the Lego Technics. They stand about 3.5in I think.. it's been a long time since I saw one. Thought they had heads larger then a PM child /shrug. Just my 2cents.
