India Theme.
« on: August 04, 2012, 11:07:43 »
It's been a while, might be nice to suggest a new theme again, this time an India theme.  :)

There would be some new parts here, overall the theme could mostly have indian clickies, but with western traders as well. It could be from the period that Europe was busy trading with India, but before the time of British India, since that might make it unpopular with the people of India.
The idea is for the theme to be appealing to both boys and girls.

Moving on to the set suggestions:

-Elephant.
An elephant with a little platform on top with cushions and some covering from the sun. There could be room for two clickies to sit.
Included clickies: a well dressed man and woman for on top of the elephant, and a servant walking beside the elephant with some assecoires.

-Palace.
An indian style palace with a throne room, dining room and a bedroom. The set up could be somewhat similar to the princess castle, but in neutral colors.
It would be the largest set of the theme, including many accesoires for a luxurious life.
Included clickies: Maharadja, a well dressed lady (could belong to the royal family), two armed guards, a male and a female servant, a child in neutral clothes to be used as either nobility or as servant, and a tiger on a chain.

-Dancers.
A small set consisting out of two bellydancers in colorfull decorated outfits, with instruments.

-Indian warriors.
A small set of three Indian soldiers with indian weaponry and a horse.

-Merchant.
An Indian house with a market stand, which sells various products that where typically exported to other countries. Somewhat of an educational set with several chests and boxes to store the goods in.
Included clickies: Merchant, Indian woman with baby, western trader with western servant.

-Carrack. (merchant ship.)
A mostly western set in the Indian theme, the Carrack merchant ship is a different design but about the same size as the usual pirate ship.
The front of this ship is typically a bit higher, could have some stairs there and a room under it for extra storage space.
Unlike the pirate ships, this ship would be intended for trade so would come with various goods and chests and no real cannons.
Cannon ports could be at the sides to give the illusion of cannons below deck however, like is done with the latest pirate ship.
Navigation equipment, a map, a walking plank to get the goods on the ship and a crane are also included.
Included clickies: Ship captain, two sailors, Indian commoner. (could be used as sailor or merchant to bring the goods on board.)

Could probably use a few more sets, but I have trouble thinking of something truly interesting and not just standard sets.  :)

I'd like to see several (maybe 3) different elephant sets, so one could make a proper procession. Maybe two big ones, and one baby elephant ridden by a child.

A traditional Indian wedding with people decked out in colorful outfits would be awesome. Also, a spice trader's stand would be cool. And another set could have women with their children washing clothing by the river.

Sounds like another great idea, Rhalius! The ships would be great for Crusaders, and the figures you've suggested all sound really cool. I would buy a lot of these sets if they were released.

I need to think of some more suggestions too.

a train with people all over it commuting through out the country  Ok an old train but still with way too many people on it  :P

Great idea, seeing as India is in the spot light it is a good time  ;)
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

could definatly be good to have another elephant set, maybe a small elephant with two indian children could be nice, along with some food for the elephant.  :)

Maybe a small harbour set too.. although I wouldnt be sure about the size.. probably shouldnt be too big. Maybe just the docks with a small wharehouse and a fishing boat.
