Those older ships (and the newer re-styled one) look much better, I will say. Those plastic sails... I have no idea why those would ever be released. :-\

Hopefully they'd go in the direction of the new pirate ship and the new western sets regarding color scheme

That sounds like a cool idea. The new Pirate and Western Themes have some nice colours and tones.

Not all of them are nice on the eyes and in functionality

and in the pirate theme there are plagued with the clip system and now electric buttons. Then you have the US exclusives that need to be plastered with crossbones images due to someones market research

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

I wish I shared your enthusiasm but for years and years playmobil was the lone company making high quality realistic toys that had a real appeal to both children and adults alike. The old western, medieval, pirate, etc... themes were full of sets you could find exact representations in the real world. I would not continue buying new playmobil if Geobrea upon some market research started releasing medieval castles in purple colors. There is good reason the steck walls are grey, they really were. I have never seen blue horse harnesses in the 1800's and there is no reason, except market research, that they should be. They were brown/black tones for years and no child/adult did not buy it due to its realism. What if the civil war outfits were orange ?? because you know how much kids like oranges.

I do agree on the realistic, and accurate colours, Ras, but my guess is a child is more drawn to bright colours than realistic ones. Sure that takes away from the adult collector, but gives geobra the edge of them captivating the interest of their small age target group.

As only recently I acquired quite a few victorian sets after my decvision to move finally after many years into this theme ( and what a grand theme it is ) i want to stress that over a few years there were pretty much 80 victorian sets. i very much doubt that these sets will be re- released. The magic of the original sets with all the children sets and varius sets with all the detailed accessories and detailing will never happenb again IMHO simply because kids these days want different things and have other toyt priorities and general different toy trends totally from the late 80s and 90s. I think - and i am new to victorian - that they are infact some of the greatest sets playmobil ever produced given the sheer quality and details and parts involved. The 5300 is a truly grand set i must say and with options such as stairs or not, additional floors , variius sets to use etc make it a very diverse and custom possible grand set around which many other sets are based upon . Looking at the latest sets etc i dopubt we will ever see such details etc again  but still i am sure playmobil will create something worthwhile

I woudl prefer if the old colors were used actually and not some silly pink color etc
