I think that it'd be cool if they at least came out with some new figures, vehicles, and/or accessories for this theme. That way they would fit with all of the existing buildings.

Some new sets and accessories (reissued or new) would be great, as long as they don't try to redo the whole theme with their current low-density plastic, and - as Ras wrote-  fisherpricy designs. In case they'd launch a whole renewal of the theme, they'd better wait till the financial/economical crisises are over (if that will ever happen) and then get back to more qualitative plastic & designs (if there is still oil by then).

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

I did notice that some of the parts in more recent sets were of a lighter-feeling plastic. Is it confirmed that they did, in fact, switch to a different one, or is any other information known about it? If the FAO set was made using this cheaper material for example, maybe that would hint at newer items of the same quality for a revival of the theme too. :(

one thing that has never changed over time is the fact that Geobra is always finding ways to save plastic resources.

people will still be buying toys till the end of time. f it is not made out of petroleum based plastic it will be corn based. If the world  ends we just make playmobil soup. Happy ending for all   ;)

I don't want to take us too far off topic, but does lighter plastic neccessarily mean lower quality? I mean the processes and blends have come a long way, it is possible that the plastic they are using could be stronger or just as strong even if there is less of it.

On topic... I'd love to see a revival of this theme! I'm with Ras that new colors would be nice so that you can tell the difference between new and old easily, as long as the new colors are realistic and not PINK or something. ::) New parts would be great, too!

just look at the evolution of designs in the pirates theme

You have the old styles of the ships,

and now you have these

but if you look at re-releasing, with new colors and in nice tones

you have old

and new

Now that you mention it, there are some signs that we may see the Victorian theme again soon.  Then again, there have been some signs that an Asian historical theme would be released and that hasn't yet materialized. :(

I personally would like to see the old Victorian theme re-released, albeit with different non-Fisher Price colors, such as a house in grays and the furniture in lighter and darker wood with different color accents.

Hopefully they'd go in the direction of the new pirate ship and the new western sets regarding color scheme
