Thought I'd take the opportunity to post a couple of close-ups of the mascot klickies which were sent out to the members who participated in this event (see attachments for bigger images). I also want to explain a little bit about how they came about.
This was very much a joint project for me and
Jochen (Little Jo). Firstly, we worked closely together to decide which figures and parts would work best with the colour schemes of the forum pages and logos. It was very difficult to find one single klicky which had all the features we wanted in suitable colours, so the final mascots were created through a combination of various parts.
The next task was creating the PF logo decals. Unfortunately, my original art was not in a suitable format, and there was no easy way to convert it, so Jochen spent many hours re-drawing the logos before they could be sent to the decal printer.
Jochen also took charge of assembling all the figures and applying the decals, since he has invaluable experience in this area from working on his own customs and also has the necessary fixatives ready to hand. When they were finally completed, he wrapped them all carefully and sent them to me, and I individually packed and labelled them for each recipient.
Originally, there was going to be just one version of the figure, but it was decided that it would be much nicer to represent both genders. All the male contributors received the male klicky as their gift and - being the only female participant - I received a female klicky.
You can see more photos of the PF mascots in Jochen's wonderful
birthday photo story.
And there's a topic about my
new avatar which also features one of the PF decals.
