I wasn't quite sure where this topic should go as it mostly comes under PFZ..feel free to place in a more appropriate section.
Anyways, this morning I watched the Olympic torch pass through the village where I live, hundreds of people turned out mainly because usually nothing exciting happens.
It was a big occasion, some local schools were given the day off, all the pubs were open and the bunting, flags and banners were out in force!
I have never seen so many police officers in my life-motorbikes, riot vans you name it. Then the procession began with loads of sponsor trucks, coca cola, Samsung, Lloyds TSB etc. with singing and dancing people everywhere. Then the runner appeared and sprinted past. The flame was much brighter and bigger than I had expected although it was all over rather quickly and a randoom man leapt in front of me so my pictures are all obscured by his hand.
Luckily, my dad is 6ft 4'' and got some great shots.
Loads of people have said that they couldn't be bothered to go and see it but I am glad we did because it's one of those things that in the future you can say 'I was there' plus for the minimal hassle of getting up early the atmosphere was amazing and I have never seen the village so busy.
This was the torch:
I'll upload more pictures if you want.
And yesterday I made this:
Enjoy,
