My New Grande Mansion
« on: May 10, 2012, 02:58:43 »
The Plombylia Fire Department, in conjunction with the Plombylia Police Department, has generously spent their time raising funds to build a new house for a family who tragically lost their home as a result of arson last year. Due to a glitch in the insurance company's computer system, the Leonards thought they were up to date on their homeowners insurance, but after their house burned down last December, they discovered they were on their own with no insurance coverage. The following are pictures of the family exploring their new home for the first time, and then the fully furnished finished product.

An overview pic of the front of the house

An overview from the back of the house

First floor overview

Mr. Leonard catching up on the news after a long day at work

Mrs. Leonard preparing dinner in the brand new kitchen

Overview of the second floor, with an added wall to make three rooms

The master bedroom

Small nursery adjacent to the master bedroom

Luxury master bath

Third floor overview

One of the two children's rooms

The other bedroom

Shared bathroom

An overview of the finished attic, which is used as a family room/office/guestroom/ hobby room/ playroom!

Office area, with aquarium

Tables for setting up playmobil dioramas ;D

A play area for the children, complete with shelves for storing toys

And a TV-watching area....

With a sleeper sofa that can be used for guests.

And that's it! The Leonards are greatly enjoying their new home, and are quite grateful for this generous gift from the Fire department and Police Department.

the mansion seems to have quite some space, I am quite amazed at how much room there is.  :)

The Leonards seem to really enjoy the house too.

Great mansion, bb and the story is quite touching.  You did a great job of setting up the interior, the nursery is brilliant.  :)9

I agree.  The addition of the extra floor and the fact that the stairs are not taking up a lot of room adds to the sense of spaciousness.   :yup:

Thanks everyone! Yeah, i love how the stairs spiral to the outside so they don't take up any floor space at all! That really helps.

very nicely set up house bb. That really is a great present that would make any collector ecstatic. Makes me want to find and open the one we have lying around somewhere  8}

I still find the L shape odd, how is it in reality? Will it only be usefull on a corner lot or will it look decent on a street setting amongst 5300's and 5301's?
