Vampire Coven by doug
« on: April 01, 2012, 01:30:43 »

When we acquired Dracula in a big lot, I wasn't especially thrilled to get him.  But the little purple-haired fanged klicky grew on me, and I decided to incorporate him into my medieval/fantasy theme.

This is the new outfit I came up with:

The armor is as over-the-top as Playmobil makes, which I thought was appropriate for a pompous bloodsucker.  And Lisa got a new Victorian Dandy out of the deal.
I toyed with toning down the outfit a bit, but I think the bling suits him.
What do you think?  Too much?

Right after Dracula arrived, we received a sun-damaged medieval lady, who became the (previously posted) Vampira:

As we stacked up more and more Ghost Pirate games from PlaymobilUSA I decided to use the extra glowing klickies to augment my coven.

My favorite (although I see in the pic his femur is showing...  I'll have to fix that...) is this newborn:

A lot of ghost pirate parts and dog-chewed Mozart hair.

***BTW  Is Playmobil delicious to dogs??!?!  About 1/4 of the e-bay lots we purchase have at least one piece that's been chewed!! ***

These next guys are the Carpathian Guards.  I tried to match their armor to Dracula's: as pointy, scaly, and garish as possible (as my spare parts bin could provide...).  Thing is, though, when in full armor the faces are mostly covered.  One would expect a vampire warrior to have exposed teeth.  Hence the alternate head gear on the 2nd and 3rd guards. The do-rag isn't my first choice, just an improvisation  Any suggestions for better helmets?

Here is the whole coven coming awake to prey on passing pilgrims.

No glow-in-the-dark pix yet.....

Excellent custom vampire figures! Very original ideas!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Love them!

I swear we have seen the sun damaged lady somewhere before in the forum.... did you got it from a Playmofriend?  :D

Where is the light blue angry face with fangs from?  ???

Regarding dogs I tell you when I was a kid my dog chewed A LOT OF CLICKIES... I think it is because thay are kinda tender, as a bone and its good for their teeth. The dog teeth I mean.  NOt good for the clickies though, nor us.

I've never seen any ghost pirates with fangs though. Did you customise these?

Thanks for comments, everyone.

Tonguello, I built Vampira, and posted hers pic here about a year ago.  I just wanted to show her with her "family" here...

Pynedor and mike1003, all heads (but Dracula's) began life as ghost pirates.  The fangs were customized with lightly engraved "V"s outlined with a black line from a .29mm marker.  If you look closely, the fangs are not exactly symmetrical (I tried, but...) and some are longer than others, some point straight down and others angle out quite a bit.
Despite being imperfect, the carving was pretty easy to do.  Try some out!
