"Cori the ship's mate" (Cori le mousallion / Cori de scheepsjongen) is a fictional character, created by belgian author/draughtsman Bob de Moor, who was a friend and colleague of Hergé (the creator of Tintin).
The adventures of Cori take place around AD 1580 - AD 1600, and include seabattles of Dutch galleons against the Spanish silverfleet, battles of England's Sir Francis Drake against the Spanish Armada of Philips II, adventures in the nordic Barentz-sea and with arab pirates in the Mediterranean.
All stories are beautiful and realistically drawn and written. Only about 5 comicbooks were released.
