Angel Statue
« on: February 26, 2012, 21:30:50 »
Pegasus wings + Egyptian lower body + Roman centurion upper body + flower pot + 2 old shield + roman column + roses + crown + scepter + sword + circus pedestal + LOTS of metallic paint + hot glue gun = a pretty cool winged creature statue...  ;)
I was hesitant about creating this custom, I didn't think it would be stable enough to stand on it's own, since the wings are so massive. But much to my surprise, the figure didn't topple over... it's not even glued to the column.
I had that roman column just laying around for ages, finally found some good use for it.  ;)

That's fantastic EmGee
Thank you for telling us what you used; but am I missing something - where are the two old shields? or were part of them used to hold the wings?
Or have I just not looked properly?  :-[

I took two round shields, from gladiators, clipped off the handles and sanded them smooth. They are on top and under the golden sphere (flower pot).
For the wings, I clipped off the ball joint and hot glued them to the back of the figure. The long hair braid also helps keeping them in place.

EmGee, just one thing, hope you take it like a well intended advice.
If the hair was golden or silver it would look more "statuesque". I think the brunette hair doesn't work that well  :-[ :-[ :-[

The rest is great!!!  :)9 :)9 :)9 :)9
