Following in the footsteps of the rally quad bike and police quad bike.  I've certainly enjoyed playing with those, but the body styles of the funracers don't really appeal to me.

I see lots of vehicle customizing possibilities!

Someone with a lot of talent (and we have a few of those here at PF ... ) might be able to squeeze a few 1930s vintage vehicles out of these funracers!

mmm  not a direction I like. I look at them and think LEGO

yes, they look like lego.
when i was a child i played with lego. i had buckets full of bricks that are now in the hands of my nephew who uses them as i did - building "abstract" forms
the way i see it lego started to be jealous of playmobil and decided to produce "figurative" toys- to small and square to appeal to children in the same way.
they also decided to be jealous of meccano and decide to produce mechanisms - to plastic-looking to compete with the metal frames.
meccano got nervous and is now producing plastic series and decided to produce figures as well (see the picture).
i don't think things are going that well for bot companies.
getting out of the original concept of things is a risky business.
i don't think playmobil needs to go that way.

I thought LEGO as soon as I these as well.

They do not appeal to me either, but I will withold judgment until i see better photos. I think Richard is right and there is great customizing potential there...
