Hi everyone, I'm new. I just recently got back into Playmobil in a big way after not having played with them since I was much younger in the mid-90's. I'm an avid LEGO collector, and that does remain my primary toy collection, but I just love the detail and variety in the Playmobil city themed collections. My refound love for Playmobil has caused me to go on quite the buying spree for some older/recently discontinued sets. Picked up a lot of the old wedding sets and the aquatic zoo sets recently, along with some older vehicles. And now I'm debating whether to pick up the circus sets, since they seem to be plenty available at very good prices. This will be quite the expensive hobby. Looking forward to joining in the conversations!

Thanks guys. I actually wound up buying the circus ring tonight. Found it at Toys R Us for $68 on clearence, plus had $15 in free gift cards, so only cost me $53. Not bad! Of course, that caused me to go on Amazon and buy the tightrope set on sale for $16. Now to see how long I can hold off on the rest! They all seem readily available at clearence prices except the lion enclosure.

Sounds like you already have a very nice collection!

Yes, it can be an expensive hobby, but at least you can be certain that the toys will last for many years if they are looked after well. :)
