NEW CONTAINER SHIP
« on: January 27, 2012, 19:31:47 »
whens this coming out?  any intell?  i saw this on PM USA facebook alongside the new train:

its so awesome!

funny how you don't really notice how WAAY out of scale PM is too itself.  This ship in PM proportions is really no bigger than a personal yaught, yet in real life this thing would be epic in size!  still, i like it :)

I think it's smaller than the previous one, isn't it?

I like the new on board crane addition on this ship opposed to the TITAN not having one at all. Great looking ship, it looks like it's based on the old ships dimensions though. Thank you for sharing this with us Atto!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

If someone here knows what a "Zumwalt"-ship is, then look at the hull of the ship in the pic above and imagine it upside down...

Reminds me a bit of my lego cargo ship the "Diana" which came with the harbor that had a yellow crane. That ship is also blue and has a small crane on the ship.

Looks nice though, but it could use a small room for the clickies to sleep and eat. Then again, I grew up on a cargo ship and spend many years there.  ;)

The hull in the pic appears vaccum metalicized, see how the waves reflect off the hull?....I wonder if the actual toy will be this way?

Oh, I don't really collect modern theme that much, but I do like this ship and the Titan for some reason.  The real-life Black Pearl was actually a small cargo ship upon which they built the tall ship facade.  So I guess I can make a long-stretch connection between my period-themed love and this modern one?  hehehe.

Anyone have any real pics of this toy yet from a toyfair or something?

I noticed that in particular as well, and it reminded me of optical-stealth techniques. And that made me then think about putting this ship's hull upside down, and customizing-possiblilities for making a Zumwalt-destroyer. The bridge of such a ship could be made with a modified (perhaps also upside down) Playmobil's Top Agents/Rob Gang battle yacht 4882 ...  8-)
