Coolest old diorama picture ???
« on: January 02, 2012, 16:01:16 »
I received today my 1978 MIB 3520 Le Mans Racing Car, i will probably do a full review/ homage to such a great set , only a small box but with lots of accessories and 4 klickies , the item is as good as new afetr more than 30 years !!!! anyways thought to post a pic which was on teh box which is sooo cool !!! Playmobil wasnt afraid to mix parts and be creative back  then , see how the old circus parts were used . Just awesome . Playmobil will never be as cool and creative as back then

By the way this race car resembles so much the longtail Porsche 917 race car of the early 70s, just superb

Have the car, but I think it's missing a few bits... bought in a lot, most likely.

Got the red one in a store ages ago though...

They have some charm (from someone who finds motorized sports boring and noisy as Hades!)

I must agree, I think that is probably the best box dioramas I've seen.

We should all club together to create an online gallery of all these classic box dioramas from our collections, so they can be enjoyed by everyone :)

That really is a great set and an awesome diorama. It's true, Playmobil definiteley needs to be more creative in the dios that they make today. :(

Anyways, congratulations on that great set. :)

I agree fully with that idea  about a diorama database. count me in folks.

As for this, due to my great love and passion for sports car its becoming my favourite ,i will do a review very soon of it with lots a of pictures etc ,

By the way it looks more like the Porsche 962 and not the 917...my mistake..  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

The racing scene is awesome, so much inspiration for kids, when we get a new set the first thing my son does is set it up just like the picture. :P
