Oh, that's interesting: the calendar uses an old (mirrored ?) image from on out-of-date catalogue  ???

I think Jochen was more surpised that they didn't use something from one of the newer sets on the cover – a Roman diorama, for example. I find the choice of pic a little odd, too. ;)

Maybe it's because the Pirates are considered to be a more universally popular theme, and particularly with youngsters? :)

Playmobil's calendars from the 1980s seemed to better display their new sets, as (if I remember correctly) they were designed to be given to retailers and not necessarily customers like us.
