A rarity factor in the Surprise Figures??
« on: December 17, 2011, 07:42:45 »
Like the coolest looking ones or the less coolest looking ones, depending on how you wanna twist the game, are the rarest in a full box For example, despite being dull, only two female singers could be found in a box of 48. This might add value to these "fillers". Does it sound good??

I actually like the singer.. well.. the arms anyway.

And that sucks, cause then people will have a hard time to get them.

I'm completely against it. Full boxes should be 4 of each. (<- period! ;) )

Queen Tahra, you have my vote! The eBay seller already put the fi?ures at over 3€ each. Can't guess what the tag price would become if some were rare!

A rarity factor could be nice, if its fully pointed out that aside from the regular figures, there is a rare one that occasionly pops up.

That way you wouldnt expect the figure to show up and you can get pleasantly surprised. Later on the rare figure could be released through DS once he is out of stores, to prevent crazy second hand prices for it, and would give a nice period of rarity before being made available to all.

Perhaps there could be two rare figures at any time: a male and a female one. Could be just one of them in a full box.
The two could match well together, always being two figures of the same theme with each batch.

Like a king and queen, a male and female ghost, a gentleman with a powdered wig and a lady with elaborate dress and a high wig, etc.

Maybe for one batch of surprise figures, kids could be used instead?

IF you could order them direct (without the bags so you know which one you are getting) OK.. novelty for the kiddies... otherwise NO WAY  ;D
Someday, I will organize my stuff, I promise.

Nope, no rarity factor, DEFINITELY not! I don't like that kind of thing, and it would mess up their resale/trading value, meaning we would pay even crazier prices to get them already opened from ebay, drive ourselves crazy looking for the rare one, and if someone had one to trade, they would ask for two or three not-so-rare ones in return. Four of each per box!

Although I love the concept of a chase figure, if they are going to be in a bag that I can't see through then know.  If it was a package we could look through then "game on".  I have not found any individual figures I am interested in for re-sell in the US yet and paying overseas shipping is essentially more than the cost a single figure.  I think even numbers as packed is best.  Still loving for Uncle Sam and Cave Woman.

I'm voting 'no' too.  But if there was to be a chase figure, how about just a colour variation of a figure in regular supply?  That way we'd still get all of the figures but those that wanted something "rare" could look for a red singer (instead of the usual black outfit) or whatever...
