Haunted mansion theme.
« on: December 16, 2011, 21:50:37 »
I think a haunted mansion theme could be interesting outside of Halloween as well, although an early oktober release would certainly be recommended for such a theme.

They already did a ghost pirate theme though, and this mansion could be a nice home to any witches, skeletons, ghosts, vampires or other occult and monster clickies anyone might already own due to specials and such.

Aside from including ghosts, vampires and other monsters, these sets also include brave clickies who try to capture these creatures. (or run away scared.  ;) )
Well, onto the sets.

-The mansion.
The main set, all of it indoors with a large stairs leading up to the front door, allowing the house to have a creepy basement. Sizewise it could be about as big as the old victorian mansion and some parts like the roof could probably be used for it. Thinner windows might help set the mood better though.
Through the entire mansion there are plenty of secrets, including a hidden room behind a bookcase, a hatch leading to the basement which also has a small hidden room where the vampire's casket stands raised with its back against the wall in the small room which could be just big enough for the casket. (which could also be put down in the basement on the floor.)
There is a kitchen with pots and pans and various knives that could be send flying in a ghostly way through the room.
Also a long dining table in another room with an intimidating chair.
In the basement there could also be a large ale keg and a wine rack.
Included clickies: Vampire, a male and a female hunter with gadgets, a ghost and a skeleton to put in a closet.

-Creepy garden.
Can be put in front of the mansion, comes with a dead hollow tree and a witch with a cauldron. Various plants and scrubs too, and an owl and a raven to put on the dead tree. Also various equipment for the witch. Kind of a larger and newer version of the old witch set.

-Shed with wherewolf.
A small structure, a somewhat ruined shed with some hay in it. Both the walls and the door have some holes in it. There are also some farming tools in the shed.
With the set comes a wherewolf clicky, and I have some good ideas how to pull this off.
The clicky is just a normal fellow, with smile and everything. He could look a bit victorian. The where wolf parts, are accesoires that can be put over him to make him appear hairy. A hairy chest piece can be put around his neck, similar to a chest plate of a medieval soldier or a necklace.
This clicky has old fasioned legs, so that hairy "shoes" can be put over his feet, which also makes his pants look a bit torn, the upper parts of the "shoes" looks like shredded pants that goes over the fur, same color as the clicky's legs of course.
Gloves are used for hairy claws, and there is a second haircut that fits over the clicky's head somewhat more like a mask, with fur all over his face.

-Mad scientist laboratory.
An interiour set for the mansion, a medium sized set.
Kind of works the same as the robotics engineer set in the agents theme, but with various monster parts to let kids design their own monster. Including some frankenstein like parts. Important is that it shouldnt look too scary since its a kids toy.
Comes with a wooden table where a standard sized clicky can be strapped on to, various machinery and books.
Included clickies: a mad scientist clicky in a labcoat (could be a grey haired female clicky to keep it more original) and enough parts to put three monsters together, with various accesoires for them like a hat, helmet, scarf or maybe a broom to make them sweep the floor.

-Hunter's van.
A van equipped  with all kinds of computers, weaponry and tracking devices to find ghosts, vampires and other unnatural clickies.
Two seats up front, and the roof of the van can be opened to play inside like usual.
Inside the van is a computer panel with a chair that can be rotated but is attached to the floor, there is also a chest where flashlights, stakes, scanners, binoculars and a headset are stored. Against the wall hangs a net that can be used for traps, and there is also a couch in the back of the van against the wall to allow up to five clickies to be seated in the van.
Included clickies: two hunters and a ghost.

-Clock tower.
A chapel or such would be too controversial I imagine, but a clock tower would be a nice medium set.
It could be two stories high, with a bell on top with a string attached so it ben be rang from downstairs. On the roof could be several spots to place ravens on top of it, and bats hanging upside down under the roof.
A formed green base with a bit of hills and rocks could be used, the tower could stand on this. A little hiding place could be present in the rocks.
Included clickies: Old somewhat creepy hermit with a grey beard and a female ghost.

OMG I am with you 100% on this idea!!!

I have thought about customizing an abandoned hospital but I think it would take lots of time and money to get old steck parts and such. I love exploring creepy places so a haunted house is right up my alley!!!

It seems someone has mentioned a very similar idea before.... can't recall who. But it seems they had some very good ideas.

The shed with werewolf could be one of the "Take along" sets.

PM could hitch a ride on the current zombie bandwagon, too.

Zombies might be too scary for children, personly I am getting a bit tired of every videogame throwing zombies into it as some sort of gimmick.
Requires lots of em too, might be better to focus on scary creatures that don't rely on quantity.

frankenstein is pretty much covered with a set, allowing kids to make their own monster.  :)

Yeti is a good idea, maybe big foot could fit better with the mansion unless its up in the cold north.  :snowman:

Freddy krueger and pinhead might be too much, and I honestly don't know what a wendigo is.  ???
