Experimenting with Train Station for Knaresbourough 2012

Gordon, I guess this is too big? :-[ :-[ :-[

My plan was to continue and cover the entire area with the roofing from one side to the other making a semi enclosed terminus.

Whether you would get three tracks into one or what I don't know what you have planned so far.

I welcome anyone's comments/suggestions :)

I don't know, I shall measure it for you when I get home :)

As it is a terminus, we could extend the platform round at the end, putting in buffers.
It would probably work best without a complete roof, as you will probably want to gain access to the stationary trains, Gordon. (Unless you are making a continual loop round, and will make the three tracks go back into one again)

Please don't feel you have to use this station if you already have plans, Gordon. It was just an idea that I have wanted to build for a while, and was a good excuse to get it all out! :lol:

Hi Gordon & Damon

This looks impressive.

I just wanted to add that the area at the larger end of the display is 8ft by 8ft (as large as the area dedicated to Gordon’s railway last year) and I am happy for you to fill it as you see fit.  The railway will be the dominant element and I think it would be interesting to embrace the railway theme and “go with it” rather than worry about fitting in lots of other themes.

Gordon mentioned that the railway could run end to end (without turning loops) as this takes up less space as each end.  I am fine with this option.

I’ll leave you to work up some options.

Perhaps we could have a have the turn at the countryside end, so that the train goes through the fields etc, and then the track ends at the train station (or perhaps     oh, hang on,       if there isn't a turn the other end the train will be facing the wrong way )
