In the last couple of years, plastic toys have had to meet new safety standards and this may account for some quality problems.  Plastics tned to be softer and more flexible now and this could explain the problem's with the nun's cape.

After reading the German forum it seems that the Romans had a rougher start than other lines and there is a higher quota of imperfect castings and missing parts than usual. I have all Roman sets and the only trouble I encountered is the new hair of some centurios which doesn't hold the helmets very strongly. I changed hair with no-helmet-wearing-klickies and now everything is perfect. Ah, one spear was missing in the Arena set but I ordered that from customer service. Nothing exceptional. All in all the new Roman sets are a true winner and I really like the historically acurate details. Especially the ships are great!

As I'm not in romans (how can anybody not be in romans  :-[) maybe a "uninformed" question: what are these new hairs? Do you mean they are made from a new type of plastic, or is it a new mold? If the later one should be true, can you (or anybody else) send me a photo of it? I tried to recognize it from the romans photos, but the little guys are all wearing large helmets so that I can't get an impression how the potential new type of hair looks like.

Hi little Jo,

I don't think it is all the new Roman hair just the odd part now and then.

One of my barbarian's that came with the chainmail type hair kept popping the helmet off, I tried the helmet on another figure and it was ok so the helmet wasn't the problem. I have lots of other figures with that type of hair and they are all ok, it's just this one piece don't no why, the helmet goes on Ok at first then after a short period of time the helmet just pops off and bounces along the shelf.

I have sort of cured this problem by not pushing the helmet all the way down onto the hair, more like just resting it on the figures head.
I'm only human, born to make mistakes.
