Victorian Dollhouse Roof Window finial

I have 2 of the victorian dollhouses and I'd like to removal the original finials from one to fill in on the other to complete the dollhouse and replace the finials I am removing with the new ordered yellow finials. I'd like them all to match unless someone can tell me where to buy the gold originals??
Does anyone know how to remove them without them breaking? I was thinking I could soak them??
So I guess my question is how to remove and replace them? Are they glued or do they just fit tight?

The finials should not be glued in at all, unless a previous owner of the house decided to do this so they wouldn't go missing.

They usually just slot snugly into a hole which makes them very easy to take out without causing any damage.

One of the great things about Playmobil is that they make most sets easy to disassemble and reassemble so you can store them away again in the original boxes whenever you wish.

If you can't get gold finials, you could probably paint the yellow-tan ones with a model paint such as Revell or Humbrol. You might not find the exact same shade, but it would help them to look more similar to the original ones.

Great idea to paint them! Never thought of that. How do I remove what is left in the hole of the broken finials?

Hmmm. That's tricky if it is broken off and you can't grab onto any protruding part.

I would maybe try bodging a sharp but thick needle into the cente of the remaining piece. If it holds firm in the plastic you might be able to pull it out of the hole.

If the finials were previously glued in, this probably won't work.

Good advice, Sylvia.  Push though with the needle from the underside of the roof section though.  If this doesn't work you could carefully drill the bit out.  Good luck.
