Famobil camper
« on: October 18, 2010, 10:40:47 »
Hello

Just had this arrived from ebay  (and, no - it came in a joblot) ;)

And I turned it over to reveal the word 'famobil' underneath. The grill also has the Famobil 'f' on it, but the number plate sticker has 'Playmobil' on it (wierd) ???

There is no refrence to this camper anywhere (the collector book etc)

The original Playmobil 3418:

I know what famobil is, but I just wondered if anyone else has this one, or has a picture of what the set looks like.

Damo :)

Intriguing find.

Where did you get the picture of the original box?

I could only find a Spanish ad for a partial set. It also has a blue sticker as a numberplate. Couldn't read what the sticker said, though.

Is there such a sticker made by playmobil?

Thanks, Ali Baba - that is most interesting ^-^

Th pic is of the regular Playmobil camper set 3418, from PlaymoDB (sorry I should have linked) :-[

You're example is either missing the roof stickers, or they never came with it originally - who knows? :eh?:

Well, the original playmobil set has a regular black and white number plate. So is the blue number plate a special sticker made by famobil?

What, with 'Playmobil' on it ???

I reckon that the sticker may just be off a different vehicle :-\

But, Playmobil vehicles have stickers for their license plates that have "PM", then the two digit year it was produced, and the set number.  For example, 3329 - Police Car has a license plate sticker that is PM-01 3329.

I don't think I've ever seen one with a blue sticker that just says "Playmobil" on it.

These early vehilces had only playmobil written on the sticker...and a few other numbers I cannot decipher see attachment...The PM set and date sticker was placed on the vehicles in late 80's i think...

I have quite a few vehicles with just 'Playmobil' on the number plates like this.

Between the Playmobil only number plate and the year of issue and set number number plate there was a period when number plates were based on the actual (West) German number plate system.

Thanks for solving that one - those plates have always confused me, because they didn't really mean anything in particular :-\

Btw, I love that police van, Panos!
