Is the diving bell water tight? Does the klicky remain dry and able to breathe air inside?
Personally I kinda like it when a toy has certain shortcomings; it opens the potential to customizing it and making it way better than it could have been direct from the factory
The upper half of the bell usually is. After use, you need to open up the canopy and let it dry out or it may never do so.
I’d make the modifications, but my son would NEVER forgive me.
Thank you for the review! Do you feel this set is a good investment with all of the short comings?
Yes, if you’re interested in nautical themes, especially modern ones (I’m certain it could be converted to a sail era diving bell, I just hadn’t thought of doing so until literally as I am typing this).
If you don’t like or don’t care about nautical themes, there’s no point to buying them- But then you probably wouldn’t be reading this anyways.
I have a couple of these and never had a problem with anything falling off or being loose. I guess it depends on how rough you are with it.
My sone IS rather rough with them, considering what they really are (which is, of course, toys, and not a real submersible that costs more that some small counties). My son likes them to “work” (repairing ships, bridges, docks, etc), but the lights fell off before she even got wet the first time… I may have to review how she’s being used…
