Meet Sergeant Matthew Luke SKIDMORE, 9TH US Calvary. Sgt SKIDMORE is a character from the movie Sergeant Rutledge (196Ø) by John FORD, and starred Woody STRODE and Jeffrey HUNTER. Sgt SKIDMORE was portrayed by Juano HERNANDEZ.

It is my understanding this was a fictional story.

Thanks to all.
My dad actually made me watch the movie- Certain subjects within it caused him to get into a fight in a US Navy barracks (dunno where) defending our extended family (one of the black soldiers in the story just happens to have my family name). I remembered Sgt SKIDMORE, though, because he was an older fat soldier (when I get 90, though, I hope I look that good- or that alive, at least :lol:).
