4693 Special Police Special Unit
« on: March 18, 2010, 22:08:33 »
Here another review of one of the new specials!
I really liked it from the beginning as this is really a cool looking police klicky.
It comes in a set with a grapnel, a rifle with flashlight and the mandatory pistol.

The helmet got an additional respirator mask that can be pulled from the face
without removing the wig.  :D

The figure has nice imprints that come in silver and have a reflectory lookalike.
The bulletproof vest has an extra hook to mount the rope that I haven't seen before...

So, enough said, enjoy the pictures...

Thanks for showing us this very interesting Special, Socrates!

This is a very futuristic looking police officer.

It looks like this Klicky has to be disassembled to remove the bullet proof vest.
Is that correct?

Also, the uniform looks almost green on the Playmobil website.
Is it green, blue or black?
Are the baggy trousers with pockets new for this figure?
I don't remember seeing them before?
(Except maybe on the new Afrika theme figure in set 4834.)

Thanks again and all the best,
Richard

Ditto Richard's question, in the official Playmo picture he is distinctly green, while your shots make him look black all over. I suspect you have it right and he's in all-black fatigues, and I wish Playmo wouldn't do this, it annoys the customer and loses them sales.

As for the figure, assuming all-black fatigues, he's very cool and I'll be augmenting my SWAT team with a few of these guys.

It looks like the uniform is a darker green in subsequent pictures, but that is in keeping with many actual SWAT teams using military fatigues for camouflage presently. I'm going to be awaiting these to appear here also  ;)!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

@richard and martin:
Well, the figure itself has a dark green. Helmet, hands, shoes, and vest are black.
The silver imprintings are on black ground.

All in all they made a german special unit that pretty much looks like GSG 9.
see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSG_9

I grapped this picture for comparison from the web.

Thanks for the review, Socrates.  That's a very good representation of the real thing.  I, too, like the "physical" detail on the trousers.  Maybe printed on pockets are things of the past.

Hi,

Not really my theme of choice, but this does look to be a very nice special, done quite well.

I wonder if the bulletproof vest could be used as armour for custom knights... :eh?:

Anyway, many thanks for a very nice review!

Cheers,

AndrewL
