Are you really sure you want Ras to adopt you, El Jefe?

This might be what Ras feeds his family ...  ;D

I've got first dibs on adoption from way back when Playmovictorian & I were wanting adopted around Christmas after we saw the presents Ras's children were getting! There was some discussion about his wife currently wanting a daughter, & how we would look in pink as an alternative  :hmm:!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

I like the clear delineation in the Pirates set-up between the Playmo islands and the floor sea!

Hello

It is great to be part of such a silly forum. The world is so serious as it is and "you people" are just silly fun :cham:.

We hardly only eat the animals listed by the way  :P. The ones I did forget to list are, ocean crabs, abalone, fresh water/sea fish, and lots of garden goodies that I also "catch"

The "move" is going to take a few months as I need to build a new shelf system in our new location.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

The boys have worked really well there, I love all the 'green men' - much better than all those clowns!   like the connecting rocks between the islands too.
Your boys are so lucky  :)
BTW if you still have to build somewhere for all the Playmo,  where were you going to move it to?  ???

Now is your chance to incorporate some kind of 'anti-earthquake Playmobil displacement system' maybe shelves with a slight angle to keep everything in its place, please keep us posted with the 'Tales of the Wandering/Wondering Mad Monk of Sonoma'!

Hi Gepetto

You know I have been thinking of different ideas seeing as our neighbors to the north have been having a lot of action over there. We are very close to the San Andreas fault. I was trying to work out the best solution but still trying to preserve the open shelf look. My first idea was to have a wire or two in front of all shelfs or a small lip of wood? I am actually glad to be having to move everything out because now I can do it all better and safer. I never attached all the other shelfs to the walls and the toys would come falling down in an avalanche along with the dangerous reptile.

I do like your term for it. It sounds so official and important  :)9. I may just use it when I shop at the supply stores instead of saying "Hi I need brackets for my toys :P

The one and only time I have ever been in an earthquake was here in Oregon, after that I put wedges in the front of all the china cabinets to raise the front just a little so nothing would tip out. If your shelves were just slightly higher in the front than the back it would be harder for something to fall uphill off the shelf.  :2c:

Hi Gepetto

Yes the earthquakes we have around here are a bit of a ride. The last big one I was in I was watching downtown concrete buildings send small chunks to the street  8} The whole house sometimes will slip off the foundation. I will have to do more than tilting and if I build this whole thing right it will even help keep this old aging building up in the event of a twisting, rolling, jumping shaker.

Hi Elaine

I am trying to clear out one of the buildings we have on the farm. I am going to do a shelf system similar to what I had already. I will be designing them wider. The old ones were 6" deep and this time I am thinking of 2'. The extra space on each shelf will give me room to do scenes on them as apposed to just storage( where they are just all lined up by theme and similarity). This old way is boring and I am looking forward to getting a lot of stuff built for the new way.

With reference to storage i will be posting pictures very soon of the shelves i have ordered to put the playmobil . currently looking for plastic open top containers that will fit perfectly in these shelves just like the ones used in spare car parts places , these i reckon are ideal for a dust free environment. .... :)
