The Quest for the Elusive Blue Stroller
« on: December 06, 2009, 11:41:18 »
Playmobil 3223 was an exclusive set released only in the United States in 1986/7.  It was the first set, not including the 123 series, that I bought for my daughter.  I have been searching for months for three pieces that were missing/damaged:  the blue stroller, the purple child's bow-tie, and the umbrella pole.  Recently I won an auction on ebay that had the blue stroller.   Well, my package arrived yesterday and I quickly opened it to claim my blue stroller.  I put it with the rest of the set and went about the day's toils.  While I was taking a break from doing laundry I started to rummage through the rest of the contents in the box.  Not expecting to find anything of import I can tell you I was dumbstruck when I out of nowhere, there was the yellow umbrella pole! :yippee:  Now I am thinking to myself, "all I need is that purple bow-tie"  so I rummaged some more but found no bow-tie.  :'( A while later I was getting the set ready for a photo shoot (because I had decided to colour a pink bow purple) and remembered my green wagon was damaged so went to the box for the wagon.  I think you know where this is going by now.... sure enough, when I picked up the wagon, something must have moved just right because what to my wondering eyes should appear - the purple bow-tie. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:  For those of you who have been following my saga and for all of my Playmofriends I proudly present to you PLAYMOBIL 3223  :cheerlead:

That is great news! Congratulations! :cham: :woohoo:

I remember that excitement you get when you come across something in a bundle of pieces which you're not expecting to find. Must be a doubly satisfying feeling when you have had your hopes dashed only moments beforehand. :yup:

I have an incomplete 3223 Playground set too. Guess what is missing.  ;D

Yep, among several other larger parts, that elusive purple bow tie is on the list. I'm sure I'll find it one day too. :)

Congratulations Annie!  :wow: :wow:

Things are looking up, like Sylvia said, nothing like the feeling of completing a set you have been working on for a while, especially an older one like that. Good job!

Congratulations on completing your set, Annie ! I wish I could be so lucky to complete my 3526 fire engine projects  :(!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Hi Reylocann

Congratulations on completing your quest  :cham: It looks like a great classic, innocent Playmobil set.
