Most of the things here are similar to other forums. It's just a matter of looking in the right place. ;)

F.A.Q. : General Information for Members is a good starting place for new members to find out how things work.

This post (which comes from that topic) includes how to upload a custom avatar and the maximum size allowed. :)9

If you look directly below the menu buttons at the top right of the page there are two small text links:
Show unread posts since last visit | Show new replies to your posts
These are the easiest ones to use in order to find all the new posts.

There is also a link at the bottom of the forum's main index page within the "Forum Stats" section: View the most recent posts on the forum. But that one shows all the posts together on the same page so I'd recommend using the other ones unless you're in a hurry.  :)
