Hey,
Timmy ...
Hey Richard
In your introduction to Ralf Gemein's Greek/Persian customs, you used Marathon and Thermopylae in the same sentence. I guess you meant it could represent either battle?
-Tim
Thank you very much for your excellent question !!!
I did NOT do a very good job with the title of this theme ...
Ralf did not intend for this theme to only represent the Battle of Thermopylea.
I took a bit of "editorial license" because I thought that most folks would be able to easily relate the theme to the "300" cinema presentation.
I realize that i probably should not have done that, as
Ralf's beautiful customs really encompass a much broader period of Greek history.
Perhaps a more appropriate title would be "In the time of Marathon (490 BC) and Thermopylea (480 BC)" or maybe even better ... "In the time of the Greco - Persian Wars" (499 BC to 448 BC)
Thanks again,
Timmy, for helping to clarify this for everyone.
All the best,
Richard
