Part number 30 23 7080 - supports for bed
« on: April 05, 2008, 08:29:31 »
Has anyone bought these parts from DS and can tell me if they come in pairs or singly?

The inventory for set 3217 (with 1 table) shows that there is only one of that part in the set.
And yet 5759, which also has a similar table, lists 2 parts for the legs.
I can see why you're uncertain.

When in doubt, I usually order 2 and risk having 1 left over - unless it's something that's likely to be very expensive.

Hopefully, someone else can give a clear answer. ;)

Hi Sylvia,  as I may be wanting a number I want to be sure.  I once ordered 12 cleats for one of the sailing ships, and go 12 packets each containing about 10 cleats each!

Since I posted, a way of getting what I want (a couple of individual beds to fit in the loft space of a Steck building) by modifying a bunk from the 3176 fire command centre set has occurred to me, and as I have some spares of those.

My plan for modifying the bunk beds has worked! :)

Parts that have numbers starting with "30 6" or "30 5" are made up of either multiple pieces (tools on sprue, pairs of squirrels etc., animals with moving joints) or are painted.  I can pretty confidently say that since this starts with "30 2" that there's just one per number.  I'll fix the inventory quantities, thanks for pointing that out!

My thoughts exactly!
I never noticed that pattern until you pointed it out. 8-)

I guess that if there's something about parts that Heather doesn't know, then it's not something worth knowing

Some things I should know!  Guess how many 305 and 306 parts I have listed?  3286.  There are exceptions to the rule (many black-and-white instructions start with '30 69') and oddities that I can't tell why, not having the part in my hand, but it's a pretty good guess.  Having said that, I went in and looked at all 305 or 306 parts with neither printing nor multiple parts and found a lot, so I added either the number of parts or a printing to most of them.  Always room for improvement!
