Padlock 30 24 7680
« on: March 26, 2008, 17:49:49 »
Could anyone show or explain how this works, please?  I'm wondering if it can be combined with the latch 30 60 0730 which comes with the Steck castles and houses, so that it is possible to have a door with a padlock on, even if the door cannot be "locked" with it.  Basically, I'm wanting a door with a padlock so that my firecrew can force the padlock off.

It just clips into place. To slide open or shut you have to lift the padlock and pull acroess, the put it down again. Very clever bit of design.

I don't think that would add to the other latch, without destroying the padlock part, but you could easily order a few to test.

Interesting thought Gordon. I have both and will give it a try and see what happens.

Looks like not in any easy way Gordon.
The padlock has a round bar that is too large to fit in the slots of the steck walls or door latch holder.
One option would be to just cut the padlock part off the latchy-bar-thingy and glue it to the bottom of a regular steck door latch holder piece.

Thanks for the information, Martin and Tim, and the testing, Tim.  I shall put some of the padlock and some spare Steck latches on my next DS order and try some ideas out.
