Western Hotel & Bank (from Argentina)
« on: February 20, 2008, 16:20:04 »

There's an eBay seller in Argentina offering several of these MIB. I don't actually want MIB, as I'm only going to open and play with them, but they might be the a source of suitable western buildings, yet these don't appear on Collectobil, and I can't see the set numbers clearly.

Has anyone got one?

Sorry about my ignorance, Martin, but what's a MIB?

I do not know of a eBay Argentina (is there?), here is some kind of "dependent from eBay" internet site called "MercadoLibre". I tried to enter to eBay with my "MercadoLibre" username and password, but were unable to do so.

As far as I know, Collectobil is not actualized after 2004. I think the catalogue name can be found in the Antex catalogue I uploaded here:

It seems to be an Antex product.
Good luck

Hi Phyrrus,

many thanks, that clears it up. I thought it might be Antex, but I couldn't think of the name. Now I've got to decide if I want to splash the cash, but there's no rush as the seller seems to have plenty of them.

MIB = Mint In Box - i.e. perfect condition, box never opened, as you'd find it on the shop shelves. As you can see in the pictures, on these ones even the boxes are sealed in shrink wrap plastic.

Several collectors here such as Sir Gareth collect MIB, but I usually open my stuff and play with it, this decreasing the value about 80%

Thanks Martin by the explanation.

They are Antex products, found in the catalogue I gave a link above, I have opened the catalogue and the catalog number and name of the hotel is "13426- Play Hotel", while the bank is "13422- Play Banco". As they are meant mainly for inner consumption, they have no English name.

They may be quite expensive to afford, given the shipment costs, and I think they are not quite different from the old playmobil Bank, the only difference is that you have a cowboy instead of an ellegant banker. The same for the hotel, the only difference is the new hotel has a different sticker from the old "Miners Hotel".

Most strange Antex products are just combinations of other Playmobil sets.

Yes, they'd be expensive, but as there's no other way to get hold of these buildings they may be the only choice.

However I've got plenty of Westrn buildings to start with, these are just an option.

cheers!
