Thank you all for the input! Obviously my intention is not to limit how Playmobil should be played; fwiw this topic came about with my 2 kids - 4.5yr old just loves to mix and match clickys to create his own custom knights (complete with sunglasses from the cops
) - whereas +7yr old brother is sort of in the stage of having to categorize the knights into clans. You can imagine the never-ending arguments
At any rate, when I find a little more time I'll come up with a rough draft of something
For starters, I'll take the Black Lions (since we're on a castle building spree for them) - their different troops (regular, 'elite', leaders, catapult crew, etc), heraldry, sets/castle in which they appear, their (apparent) allies and axis, their typical weapons and armour.
As for the 'original' knights (chrome, orange), let's say we can consider this the early period between warring clans (akin to early Chinese history before Emperor Qin) and before united kingdoms (and to go along the same analogy, the 3 kingdoms era)?
Ant the story telling aspect? I'll leave that to someone with much better skills than I have; and the kids
