As you know, I've
customized a pageant queen to take to the Miss America pageant the last few years. The intent is to get some photos that might interest my son (he is too young to care about the beauty pageant) and to keep the flow going during times I can't take photos.
Last year, Miss DC was a redhead so I swapped the hair, but this year I wanted to honor Miss DC, Cierra Jackson. From what I can tell, playmobil has yet to make a swimsuit African American lady, so I thought I'd just snap on the red ballgown from the fashion model I got at Toy Fair. Well, that dress is only built to go onto that slim body. So I tried kitbashing and painting, and I finally got it (had a dickens of a time getting it apart and back together) The arms, head, and hair are from the basketball player. (Yes, this is Slash's fro... which I had dremeled to accommodate his top hat) I then painted the torso and legs of the blond swimsuit lady that came with the floating raft.
Cierra loved her little figure! It was a big hit with everyone, so I wanted to show you the photos.
